Four people have d!ed and seven others were injured in a tragic accident involving three trucks in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The crash occurred during a procession at the annual Eggon Festival and Carnival, which was taking place at Eggon Community Secondary School, turning the normally vibrant celebration into a scene of mourning.
Speaking to Radio Nigeria Precious FM, Yahaya Sabo, the Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), attributed the accident to reckless driving and said investigations are ongoing.
Eyewitnesses described the incident as both tragic and preventable, blaming the truck drivers for failing to exercise caution in the crowded festival environment.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, while the injured are receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Nasarawa Eggon.
