YouTube has released its official 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, highlighting the music videos, creators and entertainment content that shaped the viewing habits of millions of Nigerians throughout the year
From the newly published data, gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye and Nollywood star Omoni Oboli emerged as the biggest names on the platform for 2025. The announcement was confirmed in a statement by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Gaise Baba clinched the top spot in the music category with his viral worship anthem, “No Turning Back II,” featuring Lawrence Oyor. The video, released in mid-May, quickly became a nationwide sensation, amassing over 41 million views in just six months and driving massive engagement across social media.
