In a thrilling match at Hamburg’s Voklsparkstadion, Georgia’s European Championship newcomers held the Czech Republic to a 1-1 draw

Georges Mikautadze’s penalty gave Georgia a surprise lead, but Patrik Schick’s equalizer kept the Czechs in the game.
Georgia’s Saba Lobjanidze missed a chance to win it at the death, and both teams now need a win in their final Group F match to advance.
The intense match saw Georgia’s defense hold strong against the dominant Czechs, with Mikautadze’s penalty sending the fans into ecstasy.

Patrick Schick’s equalizer was deserved, but his injury soon after raised concerns for the Czechs’ next game against Turkey. Georgia’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, nicknamed “Kvara-dona,” was a constant threat, while Anzor Mekvabishvili squandered a chance to give Georgia a 2-0 lead.
The draw leaves both teams with one point from two games, making their final Group F match a must-win to reach the knockout stages.
Portugal and Turkey face off in Saturday’s other Group F game, adding to the pressure on both teams to deliver a win.
