Pastor Lazarus, leader of Light Nation Church, has disclosed the performance fee a popular gospel singer demanded to minister at his church

It was reported that the pastor had previously spoken against the commercialization of ministry, recalling a time when a gospel artist requested ₦5 million to sing for his congregation. He emphasized that true ministers should depend on divine provision rather than turning worship into a business.
His remarks sparked debates within the gospel and gospel music community, prompting reactions from figures like Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo and comedian Alibaba.
During a Sunday service, Pastor Lazarus revisited the issue, revealing details of the expensive booking fee charged by a well-known gospel musician.
“I want the media to project an invoice. I don’t want to call the name of the music minister in Nigeria,” he said.
“This is the invoice. Let me read what is there. An honorarium of $10,000 with other payments such as accommodation, meals, and the number of persons coming. They will still have to return on the same day. All this is non-refundable.”
