May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has shared the story of how her marriage crisis led to the collapse of her businesses and significant financial struggles
Speaking at the launch of her beauty brand in London, May revealed that she had taken loans from three banks to support her ventures, but was unable to repay them when her businesses went under.
The collapse of her businesses left her with substantial debts and expiring goods in her stores.
Despite the challenges, May emphasized her determination to stay afloat, stating that she refused to be at the mercy of anyone.
She said: “It was barely a few months when all the unprecedented occurrences came my way, I sat and watched everything go down the drain and it came at a time I had to repay three banks.
“The banks had been helping me really good, but it was unfortunate that everything happened at the same time and I lost everything. While so much was going on social media, I was battling other things a lot of people don’t know about. In the midst of these, I still had to pay three banks loan, interests were piling. Like I said I had lost all my businesses, goods expired in my stores, everything went down. But because I believe in myself and I know what I am made of, I said no I am not going to be at the mercy of anyone”
Her marriage to Yul Edochie ended in controversy after he married fellow actress Judy Austin in 2022, sparking a highly publicized feud.
