Pastor Enoch Adeboye, The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has addressed controversy surrounding his previous comments on tithing during the October Holy Ghost Service

Adeboye refuted claims that he advised Christians to stop paying tithes, stating he was misrepresented. He acknowledged apologizing for any misunderstanding but emphasized his encouragement for believers to give more than 10%.
“I said 10% should be the minimum… As you grow in the Lord, increase what you give,” Adeboye clarified.
He shared a personal anecdote about committing to tithe 90% of his income and emphasized that giving should be a progressive and voluntary act.
Earlier, Adeboye had apologized for implying that failing to pay tithes might prevent one from entering heaven, stating, “That is not in the Bible… Holiness and being at peace with all men is what matters.”
