In an interview with Punch, Wizkid’s father, Chief Munir Balogun, shared his thoughts on the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow musician Davido
Chief Balogun expressed concern about the escalating tension and advised Wizkid to ignore provocations from Davido’s fans.
He emphasized that their goal is often to stir drama rather than genuinely appreciate the music.
“I told my son to disregard the comments from Davido’s supporters, as they’re seeking attention and financial gain,” Chief Balogun said.
“Engaging with them would distract Wizkid from his craft and undermine his global following.”
He cautioned Wizkid against letting fan rivalries derail his focus, stressing the importance of staying steadfast amidst public scrutiny.
