Speaking over the weekend at a civic reception organized by the Oha Isiala Ngwa people from Isiala Ngwa North and South local government areas, Otti said any decision on a second-term bid would be revealed at the appropriate time.

The event was held to appreciate his administration’s performance, especially ongoing infrastructure projects in the two LGAs.

“Just like 2023 was in the hands of God, 2027 will also be in the hands of God,” Otti said.
“So, while I thank you for this endorsement—because I see it as an endorsement of what has been achieved so far—I also thank you for making predictions. I would only say that I would go back and consult with my God. And as time goes on, my response will be made public.”

The governor reaffirmed his focus on delivering his mandate and highlighted his administration’s investment in infrastructure, especially in Aba—the state’s commercial hub.

“Our concentration on Aba is because we do know that Aba has the capacity to generate revenue for us to develop other parts of the state,” he said. “Aba occupies a prime place in our strategy, because that is our major commercial hub. Not just for Abia, but the South-East and South-South.”

Otti also reiterated his commitment to equitable development across all regions of the state, assuring residents that no area would be left behind. He announced that the Mgboko–Ntigha road project would be completed by December.

Addressing the siting of the Abia airport project in Nsulu, he explained that the location was chosen based on technical assessments, not politics, and confirmed that full compensation had been paid to all affected landowners.

During the event, Otti welcomed new members into the Labour Party, including defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Accord Party, and the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

He also revealed plans to upgrade the Sam Ihesiulor Stadium and directed the commissioners for works and youth and sports to begin the process.
