Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has announced the d8ath of his son
The 54-year-old actor shared the sad news on his Instagram page on Saturday, though he did not disclose details surrounding his son’s passing.
Accompanying a photo of the boy, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
Fans and colleagues quickly flooded the comments with messages of condolence. The loss comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola also lost her only son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan. Ayomikun, who was in his early 30s, and Chatta’s son’s deaths have left the Nollywood community in deep mourning.
Chatta had previously recounted losing his first child, a daughter, years ago. He revealed that financial hardship and inadequate medical care contributed to her death, adding that he had to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate due to the inability to afford a proper coffin.
