During an interview, fashion designer Veekee James was asked if there was any celebrity she wouldn’t want to dress again because of the way the person spoke to her.
Her response showed that, for her, respect comes before status or popularity.
“I choose my clients. If I can’t tolerate your energy, then I can’t dress you,” she said.
She went on to explain that the way a potential client communicates with her can determine whether they end up working together.
“If you are a celebrity and you are communicating to me in a way that shows you don’t value my brand, acting like you are doing me a favour, then that’s the end of communication, we won’t talk beyond that stage, you can’t see yourself in Veekee James’s dress, so I can’t remember any celebrity in such situation.”
According to her, she hasn’t had a situation where she dressed a celebrity and later regretted it because she is careful about who she agrees to work with from the very beginning.
