BBNaija star Vee has shared her frustrations with the relentless questions about marriage as she nears her 30th birthday
She revealed that even friends she hasn’t spoken to in months suddenly call just to ask about her love life, often ignoring her career and personal struggles.
“Nobody ever mentally prepared me for the amount of conversations I would have to have as a woman turning 30 this year,” Vee said.

She recounted a recent call from a married friend living abroad: “Hi V, oh my god, I’ve been trying to get a hold of you, it’s been so long…Anyway, I was praying and got something…When are you getting married, husband? Like bro, have you seen the price of groceries? She didn’t even ask me about my work, the thing putting a roof over my head. She only cared if there’s a man in my life.”
Vee admitted that while she does want marriage and children someday, she is focused on her career and personal growth for now. “I am not in control of the timeline of when I meet a good guy because I’m definitely not going to choose a bad one,” she said.
She also shared a memorable encounter in London, where a friend jokingly looked at her finger and said, “Hopefully by the next time I see you, there’ll be a ring on this finger.” Vee laughed it off: “I’m not in control. I’m not God. Let’s leave it at that, man.”
Her candid words highlight the pressure women face around marriage and the importance of setting boundaries while focusing on one’s own path.
