The daughter of Iran’s hardline hijab enforcer, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, has sparked outrage after her wedding showcased a strikingly revealing dress and exposed hair, highlighting a stark contrast with the strict hijab rules he enforces
The video, which went viral over the weekend, shows Shamkhani’s daughter, Fatemeh Setayesh, wearing a strapless gown with a plunging neckline and a veil that left her hair visible during the ceremony.

The lavish, Western-style wedding, held at Tehran’s luxury Espinas Palace Hotel last year, also featured Shamkhani’s wife in a backless, lace evening gown and other women without hijabs.
Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and former secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, is known for overseeing harsh crackdowns on women who defy Iran’s mandatory hijab laws.
The footage has ignited accusations of hypocrisy, with many Iranians criticizing leaders for imposing strict rules on the public while flouting them privately.
Citizens have called out the double standards, highlighting the contrast between the restrictions faced by ordinary women and the freedom enjoyed by the elite.
