There are certain statements that make you stop for a moment because they point to something many people have noticed over the years. Whether everyone agrees or not, they raise questions that are difficult to ignore.

Social media commentator Isaac Fayose shared a strong opinion about justice and accountability in Nigeria, saying:

“Nigeria is the only country where someone accused of stealing a small item can be be.aten almost to deth on the spot, while those accused of ste3ling huge sums of money make the front pages of newspapers and are later given juicy appointments to steal more.”

His words draw attention to what he sees as a clear imbalance in how people are treated. While ordinary people can face instant punishment or public outrage over minor allegations, those accused of large scale corruption often remain in the spotlight for different reasons, with some continuing to hold influential positions despite the accusations against them.

At the heart of his message is a simple question about fairness. If justice is meant to serve everyone, then it should apply equally, regardless of a person’s social status, wealth or political influence.
