Terrorists believed to be fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly ambushed a Nigerian military convoy in northeastern Nigeria, k!lling soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF)
According to HumAngle, the insurgents also allegedly abducted a serving Brigade Commander along with other military personnel.

The attackers, described as heavily armed and well-coordinated, struck the convoy in what appears to have been a planned and organised assault, leaving multiple casualties and widespread panic in the area.
If verified, this would be the first known instance of an extremist group in Nigeria successfully capturing a serving General directly from the frontline. The Nigerian Army has yet to issue an official statement on the attack or provide details on the fate of the abducted officer.
This incident comes amid ongoing concerns over terrorist activities in Borno State. Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, recently condemned a renewed wave of attacks in his constituency, calling the situation “deeply worrisome” and unacceptable.
In a statement on Thursday, he noted that four farmers were brutally killed by Boko Haram while working in Kwam village, near the Dille community in Askira-Uba Local Government Area.
