Chrissy Teigen has provided an update on her 6-year-old son Miles’ Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, revealing that she and her husband, John Legend, are “still learning” how to manage the condition.
On Wednesday, the 38-year-old model shared a series of family photos on Instagram, showing her children enjoying their time together.
In the caption, Teigen expressed joy over her kids’ growth, calling them “funny little humans” who keep the house lively.
Under the post, a fellow mom with a child battling Type 1 diabetes asked Teigen if she would use her platform to raise awareness about the condition.
Teigen responded, “I definitely plan to! We are still learning over here ourselves!”
Teigen and Legend, who have been married for 12 years, share four children: daughters Luna, 8, and Esti, 19 months, sons Wren, 17 months, and Miles.
She first announced Miles’ diagnosis in late July, sharing a photo of him with an insulin monitor on his arm.
A week later, John Legend opened up about the diagnosis in an interview with ‘PEOPLE’.
He recalled the moment Miles became ill at summer camp, prompting what they thought would be a routine visit to the emergency room.
“They checked his blood sugar,” Legend explained.
“The thinking was, this may be a reaction to the infection or he may be diabetic. They did more tests and concluded it was the latter; that he was Type 1 diabetic.”
Legend added that Chrissy was initially upset but quickly embraced learning how to manage the condition, and he described himself as “very optimistic” and “practical” about their new journey.
