A Magistrate Court in Kuje, Abuja, has remanded Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu, along with his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, in prison custody
The duo were arrested during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest on Monday, October 20, and were arraigned before the court on Tuesday alongside 11 other suspects. They face allegations of breach of public peace brought by the police.

The protest had caused major disruptions across the Federal Capital Territory, preventing workers and motorists from reaching their destinations. Authorities said the demonstration violated a court order restricting movement to certain areas of the city.
Last week, the Federal High Court in Abuja had issued an injunction barring Omoyele Sowore and other protesters from demonstrating near key locations, including the Aso Rock Villa, National Assembly, Force Headquarters, Court of Appeal, Eagle Square, and Shehu Shagari Way, pending the hearing of a motion on notice.
The order was granted by Justice Mohammed Umar on Friday following an ex-parte application filed by the police, represented by lawyer Wisdom Madaki, on behalf of the federal government.
