BBNaija Season 9 winner Kellyrae and his wife Kassia have shared how they kept their marriage a secret from fellow housemates during the show.
During their appearance on TVC’s ‘Esplash‘, the couple explained how they supported each other to stay focused on the competition, even though it was challenging.
The 2024 edition of the show featured a unique gameplay format centered around pairs, which kept viewers engaged even after the pairs were split.
Kellyrae and Kassia, known as “Doublekay,” went in as close friends, keeping their marriage hidden from the other contestants.
Speaking about their strategy, Kellyrae said, “First of all, discipline. You have to always remind yourself where you’re coming from and know where you’re going. It’s better to stay dirty for a while than to stay clean for the rest of your life. If we needed to stay that way for a year, it would have been worth it.”
He added that while Kassia initially found it difficult to adjust, as she is naturally affectionate, they took turns reminding each other to stay focused. “At different times, we had each other’s backs,” Kellyrae said.
Kassia also revealed that entering the Big Brother house was Kellyrae’s long-time dream, not hers.
“Going to the house was always his dream. He had tried many times, but a friend encouraged us to audition, and we were surprised to be selected,” she shared.
