Kemi Olunloyo has responded to a video and press briefing by businessman Deji Adeleke regarding the paternity dispute involving his son, singer Davido, and a teenage girl identified as Anuoluwapo.

The issue resurfaced after a social media account linked to the girl called on Davido to submit to another DNA test, despite previous tests indicating he is not her father.

During a Wednesday press briefing, Adeleke stated that multiple DNA tests had been conducted, all confirming Davido is not the child’s father. “We would have accepted the child if the results had been different,” he said.

He revealed the claim first came to his attention in 2014 when he received a package from Ibadan containing photos, a birth certificate, and a letter from the girl’s grandmother. The first DNA test, conducted in Lagos with samples sent to South Africa, showed zero probability of paternity, with two additional tests later confirming the result. Adeleke declined to make the DNA reports public, saying, “It is dangerous for anyone’s DNA profile to be in the public domain.”

Reacting to Adeleke’s video on TikTok, Olunloyo criticised him for bringing her and her son into the discussion. “I opened the Instagram page for Anu to give her individuality and returned it to her mother in 2019,” she said. “You sat there talking about my son. What do you know about him? He is not on social media and he is autistic. Leave my name out of it. It is Davido who should be addressing this issue.”

Olunloyo also challenged claims that multiple DNA tests had been conducted for Davido, asserting that only one test was done. “All we want is for you to establish the girl’s identity and let her go. You don’t know what she will become tomorrow,” she said.

On the girl’s mother, identified as Ayo, Olunloyo claimed she was told that Davido was involved and communicated directly with her, but her own investigation suggested Davido may have used another person’s phone. She said her involvement stems from concern for the child’s wellbeing: “I want Anu to live a good life. I opened an account for her and have been saving money. She will have access to it when she turns 18.” Olunloyo added that she paid for the girl’s first year in school and had tried to raise additional funds for her.

During the briefing, Adeleke also denied Olunloyo’s claims of being close to his family. “She says she was my wife’s best friend. I have never met her,” he stated. He urged the public to disregard online narratives surrounding the paternity controversy.
