Singer and dancer Korra Obidi has stirred reactions online after visiting the grave of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, performing a dance she described as a tribute to the late musician
In a video shared on social media, Korra explained her actions: “Fela loved a woman with gyrating hips, so I decided to pay Baba a little homage — I shook my nash for him.” She added that Seun Kuti, Fela’s son, supported the gesture, saying, “You know what Baba likes — will you never give him what he wants.”

Korra said her visit was meant to honour Fela’s legacy and influence on Afrobeat. “I wanted to pay homage to the originator of Afrobeat. I could feel his spirit enjoying it,” she said, noting that Seun told her Fela might even appear to her in a dream.
The video has sparked mixed reactions from netizens. Some praised Korra’s bold and creative way of celebrating Fela, while others criticised the provocative nature of dancing at his grave.
