The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has addressed the ongoing controversy involving Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, Regina Daniels and also included her mother

In a detailed Instagram post accompanied by a photo of the trio, Rollas explained that his previous silence was out of respect, not fear. He emphasized that as AGN President, he has a duty to speak the truth, particularly as his name has been repeatedly dragged into the dispute.

On the matter of Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels, Rollas stated that while the issues are fundamentally a family matter, his role compels him to clarify events for the public and the entertainment industry. He also criticized the Board of Trustees and some senior actors, for remaining silent despite witnessing incidents involving Regina on set. Rollas stressed that she “needs help” and that silence from colleagues has unfairly left him exposed.

He recounted that while planning a roundtable in South Africa, Nwoko allegedly told him that Regina could only travel on the condition that she avoided Lagos. Rollas described the directive as a verified fact and reiterated it due to widespread misinformation.

Rollas also highlighted a public incident on Regina’s son’s birthday, where Nwoko allegedly made a comment regarding her smoking habit in front of guests and AGN members, suggesting she would “have her own daughter” if she stopped smoking. Rollas underscored that he witnessed the event firsthand.

Clarifying his intentions, Rollas said his concern is not to shame Regina but to encourage her to seek support, reminding the public that the Guild has assisted many members in similar situations.

Addressing Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, Rollas urged her to prioritize her daughter’s well-being over ambitions for AGN leadership, warning that justifying harmful habits as part of a “celebrity lifestyle” sets a dangerous precedent for younger actors.

To Ned Nwoko, Rollas noted that publicly calling out his wife was inappropriate and stressed that such matters should be resolved privately. He also debunked claims that Nwoko donated ₦200 million to AGN, clarifying that the funds were for Regina’s personal projects, not the Guild.

Rollas concluded by urging all parties to maintain the integrity of AGN, emphasizing that the Guild must remain a safe and supportive space for its members rather than a platform for personal disputes.
