Two-term House of Representatives member Leke Abejide has formally exited the African Democratic Congress (ADC), revealing plans to align with what he called a “mainstream political party” as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum
Speaking on his next move, the lawmaker said he would disclose his new political platform after completing the process of securing a ticket for the upcoming polls.

“I am moving to the mainstream political party,” he said, describing the decision as “a homecoming.”
While he did not mention the party by name, his remarks have sparked speculation that he may be heading to the All Progressives Congress, the country’s ruling party.
Abejide also criticised opposition figures, accusing them of playing a role in the insecurity and broader challenges facing the nation, a comment expected to generate political reactions.
His departure adds to the wave of political realignments currently unfolding as key players reposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
