A former British American Tobacco staff member identified as CDO, who worked with Peter Okoye‘s wife Lola, has urged the Okoye brothers to consider where their current family dispute could leave them years from now.
Speaking about the issues involving P-Square, Jude Okoye and Peter Okoye’s wife, Lola, during a podcast, he said he believes the people involved may eventually look back and regret how things have played out.
He said:
“Ten years from now, 15 years from now, they will all be full of regrets. Both P-Square and Jude.
They will regret what they are doing now”.
CDO also spoke from his personal knowledge of Lola, explaining that they had worked in the same corporate environment and that he knew her before her marriage to Peter.
He went on to describe Lola as someone who played a significant role in helping P-Square get opportunities at a time when the duo was still building their name.
According to him, her connections through corporate events helped put the brothers in front of audiences and opened doors for them.
“I worked with British American Tobacco. I know Lola.
Lola gave P-Square the platform,” he said.
He specifically recalled Lola’s involvement with Rhythm Council and FKG2, saying she made sure P-Square was included in several FKG2 events when the company was a major player in corporate entertainment.
“Lola made sure that she put them on almost every FKG2 event,” he said.
CDO went further in describing the extent of her involvement, saying:
“Lola single handedly held them and dragged them to P-Square, to becoming P-Square,” he said.
He also spoke about Peter’s decision to marry Lola, describing Peter as “the most humane person in that family.”
CDO acknowledged that the age difference between Peter and Lola may have raised concerns within the family at the time. However, he questioned why those concerns should have remained an issue after the couple had built a lasting marriage.
“There’s nobody that would see his younger brother or son getting married to a woman that is about 10 years older than you and be happy,” he said.
But he argued that the more important question should have been whether Lola was a good person and whether the marriage worked.
He also pointed to the length of Peter and Lola’s marriage when addressing concerns that she might eventually control or influence Peter in a negative way.
“You people have seen this marriage go on for so many years, and none of those happened,” he said.
Accordingb to CDO , Lola’s history with Peter and her earlier connection to P-Square should not be forgotten while the family’s current problems are being discussed.
His account presents her as someone who, in his view, played a meaningful role in the brothers’ early career and supported them before the success they later achieved.
His warning to P-Square and Jude is ultimately about the future. He believes the disagreements being played out now could look very different to everyone involved a decade from today.
