Veteran Nollywood actress Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, has shared the principles that have kept her active and relevant in the Nigerian film industry for decades.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, she credited her enduring energy to her faith in God, as well as a consistent commitment to self-care and discipline.
“God is the secret behind my youthfulness. Also, taking care of oneself is important. One has to take care of oneself,” she explained.
Madam Saje went further to stress the importance of maintaining one’s health, likening the human body to a car that needs regular maintenance. “If you use a car often and don’t take care of it, it may break down on the road. The body is like a tool we use to work. It has to be maintained and taken care of,” she said.
She also highlighted that success in Nollywood is not just about talent, but attitude and character. Advising aspiring actors, she said, “It’s exciting to enter Nollywood, but once you get there, you need to be respectful. Being humble is also very important. Humility is key and vital.”
Through faith, discipline, and a humble approach, Madam Saje continues to inspire a new generation of actors in the industry.
