Police in Ogun State have arrested Dada Taiwo, 35, for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s brother, Damilola Momoh, 34, with a broken bottle in Agbado, Ifo local government area.
The incident occurred during an argument over a phone that Damilola had borrowed from Taiwo.
Confirming the arrest on Sunday, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated that the victim was quickly taken to Overcomer Hospital in Agbado for treatment. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
According to Odutola, “On July 21st around 2am, Olaife Momoh reported at Agbado Division that her boyfriend, Dada Taiwo, had a disagreement with her brother, Damilola Momoh, over a borrowed phone. During the argument, Taiwo allegedly stabbed Damilola in the neck with a broken bottle, causing serious injuries and heavy bleeding.”
Odutola also emphasized the importance of managing anger and urged young people to report any disputes to the police rather than resorting to violence.
