Marilyn Manson, 55, has officially dropped all legal action against his ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood following her public allegations of sexual assault.
The musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, not only dismissed his lawsuit and appeal but also agreed to pay Wood’s $327,000 legal fees, as previously ordered by a judge, according to ‘TMZ’.
“After four years of fighting a battle where he was able to tell the truth, Brian is pleased to dismiss his still-pending claims and appeal to close the door on this chapter of his life,” said Manson’s attorney, Howard King.
Wood’s legal team, speaking to ‘Rolling Stone’, revealed that Manson had sought a settlement during his appeal in August, offering to release a joint statement and pay a percentage of her legal costs if she agreed to keep the terms private.
Wood, 37, declined the offer.
Ultimately, Manson chose to cover the full legal costs and dropped his lawsuit entirely, marking an end to the high-profile legal battle.
