Mary Njoku has stirred a conversation on societal beauty standards, expressing dismay over the rising trend of 21-year-old girls getting Botox treatments
Taking to Instagram, Njoku questioned whether having a “lifeless face” has become fashionable, highlighting how Botox is traditionally used by women in their 40s and 50s to minimize wrinkles.
She expressed concern over what wrinkles women in their early 20s could possibly be trying to conceal.
“But at 20s, what wrinkles could you possibly be trying to hide? Embrace your youth while you still can.
“If only they understood how much people would give to be in their 20s again. They’d cherish their youthful beauty even more. Let’s teach our daughters to embrace and celebrate their natural selves. Self-esteem is everything.”she wrote.
