The DPA Family Law Clinic has announced its withdrawal from representing May Edochie in her high-profile divorce case against actor Yul Edochie

The law firm cited a “hostile environment” created by some of May’s supporters, known as the “May Nation,” as the reason for its decision.

According to the firm, the toxic behavior and harassment from both Yul’s and May’s supporters have made it challenging for its staff to effectively represent May. Despite believing that May is a victim of marital abuse and betrayal, the firm feels that it can no longer continue to represent her due to the hostile environment.

The DPA Family Law Clinic has expressed its intention to assist with the transition of May’s legal matters to new representation and has pledged to maintain professional cooperation for her best interests. The firm has also announced plans to take legal action against an individual alleged to be behind the toxic behavior.

The statement reads:

“DPA’s services to Queen May have come to an end. The hostile environment fostered by certain individuals within the ‘May Nation’ group has made it untenable for us to continue effective representation.”

-“Ethically, pursuing action against those who bullied Queen May becomes profoundly difficult when her own supporters exhibit comparable, if not greater, hostility. Consequently, we had no choice but to withdraw.”

“We cannot, in good conscience, continue to expose our staff to daily abuse from both Yul’s and May’s supporters. Queen May’s inability to influence her more toxic supporters makes it impossible for us to continue representing her.”

“The chain of events leading to the conflict between Yul and Queen May rests squarely on Yul, significantly aided by Judy. Queen May was a victim of marital abuse and betrayal. She deserves justice and societal protection.”

“We will work cooperatively with Queen May and her team to transition our work to new representatives. We wish Queen May victory and acknowledge her strength as an individual.”

  1. You chose to put yourself in that situation. As a lawyer, you’re not under any obligation to make public statements about the status of a case that was privately handed to you. No one asked for your personal opinion in a public space concerning this matter. Hopefully, whoever takes over the case from you will act with more discretion and avoid making the same unwise choice of revealing their involvement in representing May.
