Content creator MC Mbakara has issued a public apology to Nollywood actor Jim Iyke following controversy surrounding his comments about a brief elevator encounter between them.
The incident began after Mbakara shared his impressions of the interaction, suggesting that the actor appeared unfriendly during their short meeting.
In his initial comments, he said he was surprised by the actor’s behaviour, suggesting that the brief encounter came across as distant and less welcoming than he had expected.
“What will it take for him to smile? It’s annoying. Celebrities always feeling like they are God or something” he said expressing frustration over what he perceived as a lack of warmth during the brief encounter.
However, the comments later drew criticism, prompting Mbakara to reconsider his position. He has since withdrawn his statement and admitted that his interpretation of the situation was mistaken.
In a follow up message posted on his official Facebook page, Mbakara issued a direct apology to Jim Iyke and to anyone who may have been affected by his remarks.
He wrote;
“I never thought this will trend but I am dropping my sincere apologies to Uncle Jim Iyke and everyone about this issue. I was wrong.”
He acknowledged that his earlier comments were wrong and clarified that he did not intend to misrepresent the encounter.
The apology comes after the original post gained attention, leading Mbakara to publicly address the matter and set the record straight.
