Late Afrobeat and street-hop artist singer, Mohbad, paternity case took a key turn as the court ordered three tissue-based DNA tests.
Each party will submit three foreign labs, the court will pick one per side, and an independent lab will also be appointed. All results must match to avoid discrepancies.
Baba Mohbad’s lawyer expressed the family’s preference for specialized foreign pathologists operating in Nigeria, stating, “We do not wish to use a government pathologist,” citing concerns over inconclusive autopsy results in previous proceedings.
It was further clarified that Baba Mohbad will cover the cost of both his selected test and the court-appointed test, while Wunmi’s side will pay for their own examination.
The court confirmed these arrangements and adjourned the matter until February 10, 2026.
This ruling marks a crucial step toward resolving the long-standing legal dispute surrounding Mohbad’s estate and paternity claims.
