Sam Larry has testified at the coroner’s inquest into the d8ath of late singer, Mohbad, denying allegations of h@rassment and assault
A viral video had linked him to the singer’s d8ath, sparking public outcry.
During his Corona inquest testimony, Sam Larry claimed his relationship with Mohbad was strictly professional, centered around show promotions.
He alleged that issues arose when Mohbad failed to perform at a Dubai event, despite he had spent over N20 million on arrangements.
Sam Larry stated that he sought refunds but Mohbad didn’t respond.
He recalled a June 2023 confrontation with Mohbad at Elegushi beach during a video shoot. He claimed artist Zlatan intervened, resolving the situation peacefully. He denied attacking the singer or destroying equipment, contrary to Mohbad’s petition.
Sam Larry urged the court to investigate those close to Mohbad in his final days, suggesting they might know more about the circumstances surrounding his d8ath.
He also mentioned an outstanding debt of N2 million Mohbad owed him from the cancelled Dubai performance.
He said: “I am a show promoter. The only relationship I had with Mohbad was to give him shows. I never harassed or molested him. I have never beaten him before.”
“I sent him a message on Instagram to refund my money but he didn’t reply. I went to report him to my lawyer and my lawyer called him but he didn’t pick.”
“Till he d!ed, he didn’t pay my N2 million. He d!ed three months after we met at Elegushi.”
“They know what really happened to him.”
