Many social media users have described the scene as a huge fall from grace for the artiste who once headlined big shows and collaborated with top stars.
They argue that the setting—typically reserved for upcoming or street artistes—underscores how far his career has slipped.
Some, however, defended May D, noting that every artiste goes through different phases and that performing at a grassroots event does not erase his achievements.
