A$AP Rocky has revealed his mom always wanted him to be with Rihanna, advising him to ditch his ex for the singer
In an interview with The New York times, Rocky said his mom would say, “I want you with Riri,” but he thought Rihanna was just a friend.
He believes his mom’s instincts were right, and they’re grateful their relationship started when it did, as they weren’t ready for commitment or family life earlier.
ASAP said: “Rihanna has always been my boo. I always f*cked with her. My mother used to say, ‘I know you like this girl that you are with right now, but I want you with Riri.’
“And I would tell her that Rihanna is just a friend. But my mother would insisted that Rihanna is a real one and that I should go for her. I’m telling you, mothers know best.
“However, I am thankful that my relationship with Rihanna started when it did. Because at anytime prior to that, I don’t think I was ready for something like that. I don’t think she was, either,”
The rapper joined Rihanna’s Diamond Tour in 2013, and they became close.
Rumors of their romance emerged in 2020, after Rihanna split from Hassan Jameel. They’ve since welcomed three kids together, in 2022, 2023, and 2025.
