Davido said he nearly lost his voice at a time when he was under pressure to fulfill his Sony contract.
For about five to six years, the singer said his voice was shaky, and he became scared that he was gradually losing it. He said it eventually returned to normal about four years ago.
Davido also said the cracked voice runs in his family and noted that his own voice improved after he reduced his alcohol intake.
Speaking in an interview, Davido said:
“I almost lost my voice. I was scared because I had to fulfill my Sony contract. For 5–6 years, my voice was shaky and I felt like I was losing it. It returned to normal 4 years ago. My whole family has the same cracked voice, it got better when i educed my drinking.”
