The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) announced on Monday that it has intensified efforts to apprehend entertainer, Speed Darlington, by placing him on an international watchlist and alerting Interpol

This follows Okoye’s repeated failure to respond to summonses regarding his online admission of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
NAPTIP is reportedly considering a N50m bounty on Okoye after the wanted status period elapses, according to sources.
The agency has collaborated with the Nigeria Immigration Service, Police, DSS, and Interpol, placing them on alert to apprehend him.
Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP’s Chief Press Officer, told The PUNCH, “We’ve followed legal procedures, obtained a court order to watchlist him, and notified our partners. He’s been given ample opportunity to comply.”
On June 27, NAPTIP declared Okoye wanted for alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking, urging the public to provide information via 07030000203 or [email protected].
Okoye responded defiantly in a YouTube video, denying wrongdoing, accusing NAPTIP of seeking “social media clout,” and demanding a N2.5m appearance fee.
He claimed his Instagram livestream, where he described the incident with the minor, lacked evidence and dismissed the summons as psychological manipulation.
The controversy stems from Okoye’s May 2025 Instagram livestream, which sparked outrage after he detailed the encounter.
NAPTIP issued summonses for May 30 and June 2, 2025, both ignored, and rejected Okoye’s proposed appearance date of June 26.
A letter from NAPTIP’s Cybercrime Response Team, signed by Ngamaraju Mangzha, demanded his presence on May 30, while another, signed by Hakeem Lawal, emphasized the urgency of the matter. Okoye’s absence on all dates prompted the wanted declaration.
Adekoye warned that Okoye’s refusal to comply risks international consequences, advising him to surrender.
An anonymous official questioned Okoye’s evasion, stating, “If his hands are clean, why is he running?” Another official revealed NAPTIP is exploring a N50m bounty, pending legal approval, to be implemented after the wanted status matures, stressing the agency’s commitment to due process despite Okoye’s “grievous” confession.
