A Nigerian Islamic scholar, Al Hussein Sunnah, has publicly written a note to men who intend to take a second wife, while still wallowing in poverty
According to the scholar, a man should not make attempt of marrying a second wife when his first wife is suffering due to financial hardship and lack of maintenance.
He wrote; “It is haram not Sunnah to marry a second wife while the first wife is suffering in your hands in financial and maintenance.”
