A tragic incident occurred on Monday night in Odenton, Maryland, where Nigerian-born boxer Isaiah Olugbemi was fatally shot multiple times

The shooting took place in the area of Meadowmist Way and Stehlik Drive. Despite being rushed to a Baltimore hospital, Olugbemi sadly succumbed to his injuries.
According to court documents, detectives obtained surveillance footage showing Olugbemi’s neighbor, Nicholas Francis Giroux, approaching him with a handgun and firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene on foot.
Giroux, 36, has been charged with first-and-second-degree murder and will be held without bond until his hearing on July 17.
Abraham Olugbemi, the victim’s brother, revealed that Giroux had previously threatened Isaiah Olugbemi with a gun on two occasions this year, in January and June.
According to the police, Giroux confessed to the shooting on June 18, revealing that he fired between six to 14 shots, paused, and then fired at least three more times. The community is shocked by this senseless act of violence, and the case is ongoing.
