Nedu Wazobia doesn’t hold back when it comes to talking about money and influence in Nigeria.
In a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, he made a bold claim that:
in today’s society, being respected or admired isn’t just about your character anymore it’s mostly about how much cash you’ve got.
“You can’t be a role model when you don’t have money in Nigeria,” he said.
He also talked about life in Lagos’s posh Lekki area, saying many women there actually rely on men to cover their rent.
“Most women wey dey live for Lekki, na men dey pay their rent,” he added.
Of course, this sparked plenty of debate online. Some people agree, arguing that money really does buy respect these days. Others say role models should be about integrity, impact, and character not just how much you earn.
Whether you agree or not, Nedu’s comments have definitely got people talking about what it really takes to inspire others in Nigeria.
