Ex-Senator, Shehu Sani has mocked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for having JUST TWO GOVERNORS left in the party
Most PDP Governors have defected to the ruling party; All Progressives Congress (APC).
At the moment, APC holds the governorship in 31 of Nigeria’s 36 states. This indicates a dominant position, with the remaining states split among the PDP, Accord, APGA, and Labour party.
Subtly mocking the party on X, the politician tweeted;
”Now that the PDP has only two Governors remaining, the two will have to be calling each other every one hour to be sure…with words like…I hope we are still together or I hope you still de?”
The two remaining PDP governors in Nigeria are Seyi Makinde (Oyo State) and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi State). This follows Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal’s defection to APC on March 9-10, 2026.
