An NYSC corps member was heartbroken after his father passed away, leaving him devastated after saving his entire NYSC allowance for his parents as a gesture of gratitude.
He had been carefully saving every cent of his NYSC allowance with the intention of giving it to his parents in October as a token of appreciation. However, his plans were shattered when his father died in June.
In his own words, he shared, “I had been saving my NYSC allowance without touching it because I wanted to give it to my dad and mum as appreciation after NYSC in October. But my dad passed away in June, and now I have to use this money as a contribution to his funeral. It’s so sad. Life is so unpredictable. My dad didn’t get to enjoy me.”
