Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has assured corps members that they will soon begin receiving the N77,000 minimum wage

Speaking in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, Ahmed announced that arrangements for the payment of increased allowances have been finalized. He emphasized that the welfare and security of corps members remain his top priorities and assured them they would receive all entitled benefits in 2025.
Ahmed highlighted the importance of the donated bus, noting that it would address the transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff and corps members. “Staff and corps members have frequently complained about difficulties in commuting to and from the office,” he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance Company, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, explained that the bus donation was part of the company’s ongoing partnership with the NYSC. He stated that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the high cost of transportation in Abuja and supporting the scheme’s operations.
Ogwezhi added that organizations should leave a positive legacy by making meaningful contributions to society, underscoring the importance of giving back to the community.
