Prophet Odumeje has recounted how his decision to preach the gospel on the streets of Onitsha brought him into conflict with some of his former friends, who knew him for his involvement in street fights.
Speaking about his past on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Odumeje described how he went from being a notorious fighter to preaching the gospel with a megaphone, despite the ridicule and opposition he faced.
He said:
“I’M INDABOSKI BAHOSE!!”
“I have three fingers at my back. I’m a very dangerous person! I don’t do comedy.”
Odumeje explained that his stubbornness started in childhood and that he was known for fighting. According to him, people used to pay him to fight others on their behalf, and he would arrange a time to carry out the fights.
His life took a different turn when he started preaching from street to street in Onitsha with a megaphone. People who knew him as a dangerous bad boy found his new lifestyle amusing and often laughed at him for becoming a preacher.
He became well known across Onitsha for carrying his megaphone and preaching the gospel on the streets. However, his decision did not go down well with some of his former friends.
Odumeje said they began confronting him and demanding that he stop preaching because people were using his transformation to mock them. He also recalled an incident in which they took his megaphone and Bible and beat him up.
Despite the hostility, he remained committed to preaching and continued to hold on to his Christian faith.
“But no matter what I went through, I refused to give up on God!”, he stated.
Jesus said that His words are Yes and Amen. He also made it clear that He is not a man who can lie or deceive.
“There is no failure in His calendar! ”, he added.
