Ogun State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Niyi Ijalaye, suffered a sudden collapse on Monday evening in Abuja
According to a reliable source, Ijalaye attended a meeting at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s headquarters, appearing to be in good spirits throughout.
However, upon returning to his hotel room at the Bon Octagon Hotel, he suddenly slumped.
The meeting, led by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, discussed the upcoming off-cycle elections in Edo and Ondo States. Ijalaye’s condition remains uncertain.
A native of Ondo State, he was appointed as Ogun State’s REC in March 2022, replacing Olusegun Agbaje, who was transferred to Lagos State.
