British tech mogul Mike Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, and four others are missing after their luxury yacht, the Bayesian, sank off the coast of Sicily during a sudden storm
Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, was among the 15 people rescued.
The yacht, which had a crew of 10 and 12 passengers, was moored off the Italian island when a fierce storm hit, causing a waterspout that struck the vessel.
One body has been recovered, and rescue efforts are ongoing to reach the hull of the ship, which is lying at a depth of 50 meters.
Lynch, 59, is a prominent entrepreneur and investor in the tech sector.
The rescue operation involves helicopters, rescue boats, and police divers.
Eight of the survivors were hospitalized, while the others were taken to a hotel.
Six people, including Lynch and his daughter, are still unaccounted for and believed to be inside the hull of the ship.
