“How i spent six months investigating pastor Jerry Eze” — EFCC chairman

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has disclosed that he personally ordered and oversaw a six-month investigation into the financial activities of popular cleric Jerry Eze over allegations of money laundering.

Speaking publicly on the matter, Olukoyede stated, “I investigated Pastor Jerry Eze for six months for money laund3ring and later called him to commend him.”

According to the EFCC chairman, the probe was thorough and aimed at verifying widespread public concerns regarding the pastor’s finances and ministry operations. However, after months of scrutiny, no incriminating evidence was found against Eze.

Olukoyede emphasized that the outcome of the investigation reinforced the importance of due process and factual verification, especially when dealing with public figures.

He added that following the conclusion of the probe, he reached out to the pastor to acknowledge his clean record.

The revelation has sparked conversations across religious and public circles, with many noted it as a rare instance of a high-profile investigation ending in official commendation.
