Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, Ossai Ovie Success, has expressed dissatisfaction with social media activist VeryDarkMan over his reported plan to launch a GoFundMe campaign aimed at securing the release of Oyo k!dnapped v!ctims.
According to Ossai, the proposal raises concerns and could create an unhealthy precedent if embraced.
He argued that efforts should instead be directed at increasing pressure on authorities to address insecurity and protect citizens.
“The same VeryDarkMan who criticized Harrison for publicly supporting kdnp victims now wants to open a GoFundMe to raise money to negotiate with t£rrorsts so he can make money. I am disappointed in Very Dark Man for trying to open GoFundMe to raise money for t£rrorsts. VeryDarkMan’s 419-style packaging has reached a new level.
Instead of mounting more pressure on the government or taking to the streets, he wants to raise funds for terrorists. If this is done, it will definitely become the norm. We all need to look for better ways of tackling this problem. I am disappointed in him.”
Ossai maintained that tackling the issue of k!dnapping requires solutions that do not involve raising funds that could end up benefiting criminal groups.
