According to Oyelade, neither the Oyo State Government nor the Federal Government has paid any ransom to the a.bductors.

He said:

“Although both the Oyo State and Federal Governments have been making efforts to secure the safe release of the abducted children and their teachers, no ransom has been paid to the bandits, either directly or indirectly.”

The commissioner said the reports making the rounds online were misleading and intended to create unnecessary panic, urging residents to rely only on official government sources for updates.

The statement came in response to claims by social commentator VeryDarkMan, who alleged on social media that a ransom had been paid but the kidnappers refused to release the victims.
