The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2025 Anambra State election, Chief Jude Ezenwafor, has been shot by unknown gvnmen in Abuja
The attack reportedly occurred on Friday night in the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory, as Ezenwafor was returning from a private engagement. He is currently receiving emergency treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Speaking weakly from his hospital bed in the early hours of Saturday, the shaken politician described the incident as a near-death experience.
“I’m currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate me so that they can pull out bullets from my body,” he said.
While details remain sketchy, his media team confirmed that he suffered multiple gvnshot wounds and was immediately rushed to the emergency unit.
Ezenwafor, a former Labour Party presidential aspirant, recently rejoined the PDP and emerged as the party’s governorship candidate for the forthcoming Anambra election.
