Popular TikToker Peller has sparked outrage online after belittling Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Runtown, tagging him an “up-and-coming artist” during a livestream

When his other streamer, Sandra Benede contemplated featuring Runtown, Peller rejected the idea, stating he preferred a more established artist.
He said: ““Wetin be Runtown? That one never blow. We no know am. Give me another person. Who is that? Runtown? Don’t bring upcoming artists on my live video. Na artistes wey don blow well well I want,”
His dismissive comments ignited a firestorm of criticism, with many condemning his condescending attitude toward a renowned Afrobeats innovator.
Runtown has had a successful career, gaining recognition with hits like “Gallardo” (2014) and achieving international fame with “Mad Over You” (2016).
Peller’s remarks were seen as particularly tone-deaf, given his previous collaborations with top artists like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Davido.
