VeryDarkMan has once again appealed for the release of DJ Chicken, urging the authorities to allow the controversial content creator return home while also warning him never to make thr.eatening statements again.
The activist said he believes DJ Chicken has learned from the situation and should be given another chance. At the same time, he warned the entertainer against making statements about taking anyone’s life, especially someone as high-profile as the President’s son.
In his appeal, VeryDarkMan said:
“Free DJ Chicken, please let DJ Chicken go home. And DJ Chicken, don’t ever come online to say you want to unal!ve anyone, let alone the president’s son, even though we don’t see the use of the president’s son.”
While asking for mercy, VDM reminded DJ Chicken that comments made online can have real-life consequences. He said people should be careful about the words they use, particularly when those words can be interpreted as threats.
DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, was arrested after a video in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu surfaced online. In the clip, he reportedly said he would k!ll the President’s son if President Bola Tinubu won the election. Although he later apologised and claimed the statement was made for content rather than as a genuine threat, the matter proceeded to court.
He was subsequently charged with offences including alleged thr.eat to k!ll, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and alleged violations of the Cybercrimes Act. A magistrate later granted him ₦1 million bail under strict conditions, but he remains at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of those bail conditions.
