Five individuals have been arrested for allegedly molesting and sexually harassing women during a festival in Ozoro, Delta State
SP Bright Edafe, spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the arrests in a statement to reporters. He noted that Delta State Police Commissioner Aina Adesola strongly condemned the conduct after seeing viral footage of the incident.

“The Delta State Police Command condemns the alleged sexual molestation, harassment, and rape of girls in Ozoro under the guise of a festival. Disturbing videos from Oramudu Quarters, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, show sexual assault and molestation of young women during a local event. Such acts are criminal, inhumane, and violate the fundamental rights and dignity of the victims.
“Upon reviewing the videos, the Commissioner of Police ordered an immediate investigation. The chief organiser and five suspects have been arrested. The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. Tactical and investigative units have been deployed to identify, apprehend, and ensure prosecution of all those responsible.
“The Command urges victims and witnesses to provide any information that could aid ongoing investigations, assuring that all information will be handled with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
“The Commissioner of Police appeals to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, and assures that the Command is fully committed to protecting lives, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and maintaining public order. The Delta State Police Command condemns these acts in totality and guarantees that all perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law,” the statement added.
